Howdy friends, I’m Lauryn Williams, owner of OAK BRUSH. I may have given you a solid haircut or a bright new color, or maybe your favorite vintage digs came from one of my pop ups. Maybe you just know my dog, Moose. Either way, I’m glad you’re here.

I love to work with my hands - different textures and colors make me giddy. With an eye for design and attention to detail, I don’t believe I’ll ever feel the need to leave the craft of hair. I’m one of the lucky ones, as I always knew what I wanted to do and was open to where it could take me.

After some time behind the chair and working with other entrepreneurs, I started to crave a way to merge my skills and passions with opportunity and community - starting a small business, my own salon space. I definitely didn’t see this in my future!

Next step was to find a place for this business. I knew I wanted to be close to nature, in a place that was hard to get to... and then, I was introduced to Durango, Colorado. Instantly I wanted nothing more than to call it home and set up shop.

I started on this new adventure and moved to Durango in 2020. The goal was to create an all inclusive and progressive walk-in barbershop, which was a need for Durango, and why Bucks Parlor was opened. It was a great time, but I learned that the business structure wasn’t what I needed to make Durango my home.

I made the hard decision to sell the business, but then, another opportunity arrived. The owners of local hair salon, ReyLynn’s, approached me to take over their business. I purchased the established Durango salon in 2023 and created OAK BRUSH. A fulfilling and great fit.

My favorite part of being a small business owner is creating community; I’m a big believer in you get back what you put out and we definitely attract good energy at OAK BRUSH. We open our space to host pop-ups and other events that rock our socks and give back where we can.
